A break from my model portfolio work... I present to you my ultra nerdy desktop as of 5 minutes ago! I have the cleanest desktop ever, right?

I actually slapped all these images together... not the most amazing work, but I like it. P:

...props if you noticed the UCGO folder in the top right corner... Yes, that is the Universal Century Gundam Online game. I must be the only hardcore Gundam girl on the planet.

The RX-78-2, Mark II, and Zeta Gundams as well as the Amuro, Kamille, and Judau images are from Mini Tokyo.
The awesome space image is from (and is a beautiful background by itself, might I add).

Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam are copyright to Yoshiyuki Tomino.

Thank you!

Geez... what version? I MIGHT have used CS4 for this, but I'm not sure. I've been pretty much using every version of PhotoShop for the past decade!

I actually have several Gundam fangurls on my List.......but I'll admit you are top 5. :D

Can I get this as just a wallpaper>?

Well, I don't consider myself a "fangirl/gurl" because I don't freak out and flail over certain male characters (though I am partial to Amuro, for whatever reason). I have a great appreciation for the UC world that Tomino created. I think I own about 90% of all the UC series.

I think I'm just a crazy lady nerd... ; P

Anywho, about the wallpaper... I am still debating about releasing it, but if I do decide to, I will let you know!

Indeed. You should know I own box sets of all the Gundam series....from MS to double- Zeta, to The Counterattack to the 8th....Wing to Seed/Destiny, and 00 as well....hell I just recently got my blu-ray of Unicorn in the mail.....:D

I meant no offense by the "fangurl" comment....:(

And I would love that wallpaper.

I have Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta, ZZ, Char's Counterattack, 8th MS Team, War in the Pocket, and Stardust Memory.

Wing was my first Gundam when I was 12, though I didn't like it as much growing up. So still on the fence about owning that. Same with F91.
Still have yet to see Victory or Turn A, but I heard those were very good. I'm just on the fence whether I should buy the bootlegs are not, since they never released any official version with English dubs or subs. :/

I never saw SEED, Destiny, or 00. This might sound strange, but I'm not a big fan of the newer character designs. I prefer Yasuhiko Yoshikazu and Hiroyuki Kitazume's 70's and 80's style to now.

That being said though, Yas is back on the bandwagon for Unicorn, which makes me incredibly excited. I'm definitely going to have to get Unicorn once all six episodes are released! : D

Ahh Stardust Memory my personal favorite of the Universal Century side-stories....for the only two reasons that matter.....

1. The Nightmare of Solomon, When you own a couple hundred mobile suits single- handedly, people know not to fuck with you(excepting your standard dumb Feddie white-boy:()
2. The Physalis Gundam. <-- A Gundam with a Nuke-Cannon,enough said.:D

And as for the bootlegs.....DONT. DO. IT. :iconstopplz:
Subbs or bust trust me on that. I'm an American born and raised, but; God help me American VA's sound TERRIBLE*** compared to they're Japanese counterparts.....with very few exceptions(Gundam Wing, Seed/Destiny)
The original series.....hmmm I can watch most them dubbed or subbed....but Original Mobile Suit Gundam....subbed cause Amuro's English VA makes hmm sound like such a little BITCH*....

As for Gundam Wing, I watched it young and like you I didn't like it...
However I re-watched it a couple of years ago and this time I loved it. And the reason why is Wing is unbelievably *deep* in terms of characters and plot. And as a child all that is hard to comprehend. However as an adult it all makes sense, and I changed my opinion on the Series, it is now easily my favorite of ALL* the Gundam series for all time, with 00 taking a close second because of similarly deep and engaging plot, motivations, and characters.

So I highly recommend you re-watch the series as I'm quite sure you'd like it now.

Also as to the designs....I liked some of the designs, such as the way the older shows female character where..."modeled" and before I'm misunderstood let me explain why.....

In the newer series EVERY*** single female shown for the ENTIRE** series is another "damsel in distress", more often than not they are "drawn" to be sexually appealing(with a 78% male audience I wonder why), their are only 5-6 examples of a "strong" female character, Lady Une, Lucrezia Noin, Sally Po(Wing), Lunamaria Hawke, Lacus Clyne(debatable actually) and Hilda Harken(GS/GSD).

In all the originals, the females where drawn and modeled to be, "pretty if you wanted them to be" and they where all independent, strong, and able to take care of themselves and put some boot to ass if need be.

Hell you even have a woman, Haman Karn, best Chars Aznable in a Mobile Suit duel, someone who argueably is one of the best(if not The*) mobile suit pilots in the Timeline.

Chars sister, hell of a pilot( a family of pimpin-ass balla's, no wonder people be hatin)

*End of Rant*

*loud exhale* Well now that that is off my chest I do hope you'll listen to my advice and re-watch Wing(Waltz too). :)

So with that I'll sign off with good night and good luck.

Really? I don't mind English Dubbing that much.
('Cept for perhaps Kou's... and Fa's...)
As for Amuro's English VA, I don't mind it. He's only supposed to be 15, after all.... and he doesn't have any backbone anyways.

Wing, I did watch a year or two back, and didn't enjoy it as much as I had when I was 12. Sorry for the confusion there.

As for newer vs. older character designs/animation styles... it just has to do with all animes, in my opinion. I like the "anime realism" look, opposed to the wildly huge (and sometimes distorted) looking eyes of today's anime. As per our society's change in style, anime males are looking more and more feminine.... which just doesn't fly well with me.
I guess that's why I am a fan of YAS' work so much... he hadn't done anything in 9 years, and then along comes Unicorn. He has GREATLY improved, but his style has not really fell to the trends of today.

It's not that I don't "like" English VA's per-say its just that if I have a choice between Subbed or Dubbed.....I'll take Japanese Seiyu's EVERY* time. :D

And you don't like Wing:shocked::jawdrop:....honestly Treize Khushranada is on par with Charz in terms of awesome villain characters, you spent half their series treating them and thinking of them as the "bad guys" only to learn THEY* where the good guys.....and your "Heroes" where just puppets on strings.....and Treizes' English voice is a Legend in his own right having voiced Sesshomaru(Inuyasha) and Megatron among quite a few others.

Easily my favorite English VA of all time.
